 After spending over 20 years in college athletics with the Big 10 and Pac 10 as a player, coach and administrator, Deryk Gilmore left the team side to become a sports agent. Gilmore was certified as an agent in 2005 with Priority Sports and over the last 12 years has become one of the top agents in the industry according to Forbes Magazine.
Gilmore started his company Day1 in 2017 with the vision of taking his goals and values on how to help players and make that dream a reality. His clients include: La'el Collins (Dallas Cowboys), Mitchell Schwartz (Kansas City Chiefs) and Mike Evans (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), to name a few.Â

LaTonya has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the 2012 Atlanta Business League’s Success Against the Odds Award, the Women in PR Trailblazers Award in October 2011 and served as a panelist for the organization’s PR Workshop in Miami. Scott Rochelle was named President and CEO of the National Basketball Retired Players Association in March 2018, after serving one year as an Interim. He previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Partnership Development / General Counsel, and Vice President of Membership, Programming and Chapter Development.
In his role as President and CEO, Rochelle oversees the Retired Players Association’s day-to-day operations, including securing new cutting-edge partnerships for former players to thrive and prosper. In addition, he continues to strengthen and foster the association’s local chapters which has expanded to 12 cities during his tenure as President and CEO.
At 38, Rochelle, is a rising star in the basketball world, working closely with the NBA executive team to guide revenue-generating and philanthropic programs that involve the greatest names in the NBA. He is re-writing the business strategy of the Retired Players Association and has the support of the NBA and NBPA.
Rochelle has also been instrumental in the development of new content platforms aimed at targeting younger, newly retired players. These initiatives include the creation of a monthly podcast, an aggressive social media strategy and the creation of a new publication titled, Legends Magazine, the official publication of former NBA and WNBA players.
Rochelle is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia and received his Master’s in Education and a law degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Carron J. Phillips serves as Senior Columnist for The Shadow League and was formerly the Sports, Race & Social Issues columnist for the New York Daily News. He has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, Buzzfeed, CBS46, and HLN.
He is the first African-American to be a member of both the Sports Journalism Institute (2011) and the Associated Press Sports Editors Diversity Fellowship Program (2014-2015). In 2016, he was named Journalist of the Year by the Philadelphia Association of Black Journalist. And in 2019, he was awarded a National Association of Black Journalists' Salute To Excellence Award for National Newspaper Commentary.
Carron graduated with honors from Morehouse College in 2006 with an African-American Studies degree and received his Masters in 2011 in the Magazines, Newspapers & Online Journalism program from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
He hails from Saginaw, Mich and resides in Atlanta.
Tareia Williams is the Senior Director of Communications for Turner Sports, with wide-ranging responsibilities including direct oversight of the division's innovation communications disciplines. She leads PR campaigns for Turner's award-winning suite of digital products -- including NCAA March Madness Live -- along with Turner's move into the direct-to-consumer space with B/R Live the Company's premium live streaming destination. Additionally, Tareia leads PR efforts supporting all live events and special projects including the NBA Awards on TNT, All-Star Road Show and the annual NCAA March Madness Music Festival.

She was named to Rolling Out Magazine’s 2015 list of Top 25 Women in Atlanta. She is the founder of PoweR, an intensive bootcamp that allows PR students at Clark Atlanta an opportunity to develop and execute real public relations campaigns while also building relationships with current PR professionals as they start their transition into the real world. Additionally, she serves on the sports task force of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) as Vice President of Digital and Social, is a member of National Association of Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and is a mentor in an Accelerator Program that helps female entrepreneurs scale $1M+ companies. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
